AGM Decisions

This years AGM was held last night and the following decisions Were taken:

1. Committee were re-elected with the following changes:

(i) Andy davis has taken over as Reserve Team Assistant Manager.
(ii) Alan Hay is the Old Boys Representative.

2. The Executive Committe have been asked to consider alternative playing facilities to Plock Court.

3. Membership Fees.

Full Members - Will be held at the current rate of £22.50 per month (over 12 months June - May).

Unemployed or full time students - £10 per month. (see note below re Lottery and Dinner).

Part Time Membership (Players who can only play occassionally) - £10 per month with rebate if they play less than 12 games.

Occasional players, first three games no charge, then £6 per match.

Note:

Players paying the reduced fee (£10) are reminded that their fee, covers match fees, training, membership for the Gloucestershire Club but NOT the Clubs Annual Dinner or an entry into the clubs monthly lottery scheme. If you wish to be included in either then there is an additional monthly fee of £2.50 and £1.75.

Occassional Players are not included in the lottery unless they wish to pay an additional £2.50 per month, or the dinner unless they want to pay an additional £1.75 per month.

4. The club funds have improved, but there is still more work to do. The treasurer reported that most players had now set up a standing order, but there were still those who hadn't.

It was agreed that this situation needs to be rectified immediately, and that in future all players must sign a standing order mandate at the time they sign on.

Several players are in arrears with their fees. It was again decided that this neds to be rectified and that payment of arrears will be pursued.

5. The lottery scheme is in need of additional members to maintain its viability, so players need to try and recruit people who can pay either £2.50 per month or £30 per year by standing order. Further details from Doug or Georgina.

6. The Chairman announced that he was formally retiring from playing but would continue in his Chairman's role. he intebded to try and secure sponsorship for the club in the comming year.

7. Training will continue on the following basis:

(June - September Plock Court) - Details to follow.
September - March - Sir Thomas Rich School. The Executive Committee will assess time of sessions.

8. The comming season will be the clubs 55th anniversary and it is intended to mark it at some point in the year 2010 - 2011.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
