Bev, 51 was born in Swindon and joined Spitfires in 1970. In her time at the club she has been coach, manager, secretary and player. Not too mention, she washes the kit, puts nets up and down, cleans the changing rooms and practically is Swindon Spitfires through and through. In her time at Spitfires Bev has achieved many honours including 2006/07 - Club Player, 1993-1994 - Club Player, Players' Player, 2000-2001 - Services to the Club, 2004/05 - Club Player and many, many more. Bev still plays for Spitfires in a defensive position. Bev's favourite football team is Manchester United and Swindon Town. Her favourite football player is Mark Hughes. She enjoys Fish and Chips with a nice cup of Tea, whilst watching Neighbours or listening to Sir Elton John. Her husband Chris has been involved with the club since the very beginning. Bev also has two children. Michelle, who also plays for the Spitfires and son Steven, who is also heavily involved with the Spitfires. Bev has achieved lots with the club and hopes there is more to achieve for the future. She also supports women's and girls' football in the comunitity as she is the Wiltshire Football Administrator.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
