Spitfires Reserves put in an excellent performance this Sunday and outclassed Carterton. From the off Spitfires came close as Caroline Hook's cross found Lyndsey Ball who's header was just over.
On 14 minutes Diane George's long ball over the Carterton defence alllowed Ball to lob the 'keeper and run through and slot home.
Zofie Stepien came close 3 minutes later but the Carterton 'keeper made a good stop.
Ball came close to getting her second on 25 minutes but the crossbar kept the scoreline down. Not for long though, as 2 minutes later Elaine Hall's corner fell to Hook to shoot through a crowded box and find the back on the net.
Carterton did push forward and Eleanor Rickeard made a fanastic save knocking the ball over the crossbar.
5 minutes before the end of the half Spitfires 3rd came as Hall long range shot flew over the stranded 'keeper.
In the second half Spitfires started strongly again and Hall flick on to Hook allowed her to shoot long range for her second of the match.
Hook was hand again on 59 minutes as her cross allowed Kristina Digweed to score from close range.
Digweed came close again 10 minutes later however the resulting shot was just wide.
On the 76th minute Carterton did score from a long range shot which was just to high for Rickeard to reach.
2 minutes from time Hall came close again only for her shot to hit the crossbar and on the 90th minute the 6th and final goal came as Lyndsey Welsh calmly slotted home, scoring her first for the club.
A great match all around, with some really good performances. With players playing out of positions this didn't show and the squad should be proud with the way they played.
