Spitfires’ Reserves came back from a goal down to win 7-2 at Winnersh Rangers in the Thames Valley League. A long ball over the top caught Spitfires out in the 9th minute as the home side took the lead, but after a good deal of pressure the equaliser came in the 29th minute when a cross from Vicky Wilkes was turned home by Liz Coles.
Spitfires continued to press and were rewarded ten minutes later when Lyndsey Ball headed home from a Zofie Stepien corner. And two minutes from the break another Stepien corner found the head of Jessica Dent who made no mistake.
Ball notched her second in the 50th minute, converting Ellie Rickeard’s cross, and Stepien made it 5-1 with a well placed free-kick two minutes later. Winnersh reduced the deficit with a free-kick of their own in the 73rd minute but it was Spitfires who finished the stronger. Jas Allott set up Naomi Bell to power home from 20 yards in the 77th minute, and Ball completed her hat trick two minutes later when she broke free and rounded the keeper before slotting home.
